Service Unit
What is a Service Unit?
A Girl Scout Service Unit is a group of Girl Scout troops and
Volunteers that come together as a team to provide Girl Scout
activities to the local community. Because Girl Scouts of Southern
Illinois covers about 40 counties, Service Units help Girl Scout
Volunteers to organize, recruit, plan, and deliver Girl Scouting
programs in their respective communities.
Service Unit 102
The Volunteers of Service Unit 102 meets once a month during the
school year to keep troop leaders and co-leaders informed. We plan
the events to be offered to the troops through the course of the
school year and a
summer camp, as well as offer the troops ways to serve their
community.

Service Unit Events are open
to each registered girl. Below
you will find a few examples
of events our Service Unit
has hosted.
Cookie Sales are
considered both an event
and a fund raiser.  Cookies
are a fun way for girls to
earn the money that fuels
their dreams, as well as a
powerful, hands-on
leadership and
entrepreneurial program.
Farm Fun is an opportunity
for the girls to get outside
and celebrate fall, the
harvest, and Halloween.
Our Christmas dance meets
a two-fold goal; one being
to have fun and the second
to reach out to the
community with a gift drive.
All gifts are donated to a
local charity.
The Daddy Daughter
bowling event gives the
girls a chance to have
some fun with Dad, who
often gets left out of the Girl
Scout adventure.
Girls Are Our Future...
and Girl Scouts prepares them to
be strong, courageous, and
confident women of  tomorrow.
Volunteers make it happen!
Whether a meeting for 8 girls or
a Day Camp for 80 girls, it could
not happen with out the
dedicated Adult Girl Scout
Volunteers.
