The Girl Scout program was developed for girls ages 5 to 17
and based on the Girl Scout Promise and Law. Girl Scouts is
commited helping all girls from every background to develop
determination, confidence, and skills that will help them become
successful women. Each program level is adapted to meet the
educational, emotional, developmental, and social needs of the
girls at each stage of life.
Daisy Level - Kindergarten and First grades: The adventure
begins here as the girls go on trips, learn about nature and
science, and explore the arts and their communities. Daisy Girl
Scouts also earn Learning Petals and receive participation
patches for events they participate in..
Brownie Level - Second and Third grades: Making New Friends
as they begin to work together in small groups outside the troop
and have fun at age-appropriate activities held outside the troop.
Many of the activities these girls participate in will help them to
earn Try-Its.
Junior Level - Fourth and Fifth grades: Girl Power Rules! At this
exciting level the girls find that they truly can change the world,
or at least a small part of it. While discovering what girl power is
all about through new activities and taking charge of their own
plans these girls earn badges and gain self-confidence as they
explore the world in partnership with their troop leaders.
Cadette Level - Sixth, Seventh and Eighth grades: girls at this
level are learning that Girl Scouting offers them a world with
many exciting opportunities to explore personal interests,
develop a healthy way of life, work on leadership skills, and
provide service to their communities.
Senior Level - Ninth and Tenth grades: Senior Girl Scouts
participate in Girl Scouting in many ways, by mixing and matching
activities and resources to suit their needs while giving back to
their communities. They connect with each other and build
self-esteem and confidence in their skills as they work on a
range of projects and gain life experiences that take them
through their high school years and prepare them for college life
and beyond.
