In Girl Scouts, girls discover the fun, friendship, and power of
girls working together. Through a myriad of enriching
experiences, such as extraordinary field trips, sports skill-building
clinics, and environmental stewardships, girls grow courageous
and strong. Girl Scouting helps girls develop their full individual
potential; relate to others with increasing understanding, skill,
and respect; develop values to guide their actions and provide
the foundation for sound decision-making; and contribute to the
improvement of society through their abilities, leadership skills,
and cooperation with others. From the Kindergarten to the High
School Senior girls are the focus.
The Girl Scout Leadership Experience is girl-driven, reflecting the
ever-changing needs and interests of participating girls. It
provides participating girls with a wide variety of leadership
opportunities available in Girl Scout journeys, books, awards, the
Go Girls Only, STUDIO 2, and other GSUSA Web sites, as well as
other resources.
The program encourages increased skill-building and
responsibility, and also promotes the development of strong
leadership and decision-making skills. All program activities are
grade-appropriate and based on the Girl Scout Leadership
Experience, as well as on the Girl Scout Promise and Law.
