Council Events and Collaborations
Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois Council
Our Council hosts several events throughout the year for the girls
and many of them are Girl Scout level specific, while some blend
girls of all ages. These events are programed to help the girls
meet the Girl Scout Leadership Experience Outcomes of
Discover, Connect, and Take Action. The goal is for the girls
participate in a range of activities from each of the three
outcomes, so you will find that some programs may deal with the
same topic, each program will have a different approach.
The Vision of GSSI
Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois goal is to be the organization of
choice for girls, adults, and volunteers in Southern Illinois. This
vibrant and innovative organization will be accessible for all girls
from all demo-graphics and will continue to build on the strong Girl
Scout culture present throughout Southern Illinois.

Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois will strive to continue to deliver
quality, outcome based programs through its trained and
energized volunteers and highly skilled staff. Girl Scouts of
Southern Illinois will make increased use of technology to reach all
girls and deliver programs matched to girls’ interests. Girl Scouts
of Southern Illinois will seek corporate and individual donors and
sponsors to take Girl Scouting from good to great for girls now and
in the future.

The girls of the Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois Council will find
they can choose programs and events that teach skills and
hobbies; such as scrapbooking, tennis and karate workshops,
and even pottery making, to programs that are just plain fun; like
the Daisy Tea Party and the Junior level Lock-In. We are fortunate
to be part of a Council that strives to form collaborations with
other organizations and companies that provide our girls with very
special and unique opportunities. Some examples include the St.
Louis Magic House Camp-In, Snooze at the Zoo, and Try-It and
Badge work at the Douglas Hart Nature Center and the
Challenger Learning Centers in St. Louis, Missouri and Paducah,
Kentucy.
